Evidence of a Six-Inch Tall Human Being? The “Ata” Humanoid Continues to Amaze Scientists
A fascinating story which has been making the rounds online is the so-called “Ata” alien. It’s a tiny mummified corpse which was supposedly discovered in the Atacama Desert of Chile, South America.

The mysterious corpse became the subject of a controversial documentary called “Sirius,” which suggests the bizarre corpse – with its elongated head – might actually be extraterrestrial in nature. Needles to say, it had skeptics snickering. Was it a hoax? A deformed fetus? A primate of some kind? Or, incredibly, an alien being?
An answer has finally been provided, although it raises some profound questions. The body is indeed human, but amazingly NOT a fetus as many had guessed. The following is an excerpt from a summary report by Dr. Garry Nolan of Stanford University School of Medicine:
“Morphologic features include that the specimen has only 10 ribs, mild mid face hypoplasia, and shows abnormalities of the skull.
The observed abnormalities do not fall into any standard or rare classification of known human pediatric disorders. As represented by a specialist in pediatric human bone and growth disorders (see attached report), the 6 inch specimen is a human that was likely 6-8 years of age at the time of death (age based on epiphyseal plate X-Ray density standards)”
“I can say with absolute certainty that it is not a monkey. It is human – closer to human than chimpanzees. It lived to the age of six to eight,” said Garry Nolan, director of stem cell biology at Stanford University’s School of Medicine in California. “Obviously, it was breathing, it was eating, it was metabolizing. It calls into question how big the thing might have been when it was born.”
A six inch tall human being – eating, breathing, talking? It’s a remarkable claim, one that has generated intense skepticism. A question that’s popped up on various message boards is how such a tiny human could have survived for eight years without being trampled by a foot or picked off by a cat. Others have argued an infant that size couldn’t possibly have received life-giving nutrition such as breast milk.
As extraordinary as the Ata Creature is, it is not entirely unique. The San Pedro Mummy, first discovered in 1932, was a small humanoid weighing seven ounces and standing at an estimated height of fourteen inches. Although initially dismissed as a hoax, x-rays on the mummy revealed a “man-like” skeletal structure. Unfortunately, the mummy itself disappeared. It remains missing to this day. The San Pedro Mountains are also home to many Native American legends regarding “little people.” Could there be a scientific basis in our stories of elves, fairies, and other diminutive mythological beings? Were our ancestors inspired by tiny, real life humans? If we let our imagination run wild, we can even speculate that these bodies represent an entirely separate branch of humanity.
Did a race of genuine “little people” really exist? It’s a fanciful notion, certainly. But with the recent news regarding the Ata Creature, maybe not that fanciful after all…
