Got another rejection today...but it was encouraging. Said my writing was strong, but dystopian was too hard of a sell right now. Got a pretty enthusiastic offer to consider them for my future works. So bad news...peppered with good news!
I'm now up to three cups of tea that my narrator, Mahala, prepares for herself during the story. She's been interrupted or interrupted herself halfway through each one and been unable to finish the first two. Moments like this I really feel like an evil god.
I have the BEST CPs in the world. So blessed.
Done with my edits! I'm feeling super relieved and satisfied with the changes!

I'm looking for writers who'd be willing to share the process or a funny anecdote about writing their very first story, to guest post on my blog. If interested, DM me.

I have to laugh. When I would query with my last novel I was told it was too quiet. I just to joke this meant agents/editors wanted something like a car chase or explosions happening in the first chapter. My first chapter my WIP ended up having a car catch fire. Albeit it in a non-action movie way (it's a result of a botched jump start). Hopefully this will be easier to sell =)
JR WirthGood luck!
