Help! I Can't Upload a Profile Pic

Dizzy?
Okay, good.
Now see if you can follow these instructions for properly uploading a profile pic/image:
1. Step One:
Make one post -- New member Shout-out is a good choice. But really, any single post will do...
2. Step Two:
Resize your image to no larger than 200 x 300.
Our system will automatically resize it down to the standard 100 x 100, but our system will prohibit you from uploading any photo larger than say, ....400px x 600px.
Don't be a resource hog. Resize your image to something acceptable. If you don't know how to resize an image, it's actually very easy.
Go to MS Paint on your computer --> Open your image --HOME --> Resize --radio button, select pixels. Make sure your pixel size is within 200 x 300. Save.
Or if you don't have MS Paint (or the Mac equivalent), you can download the free graphic editor, Irfanview.
Go to File: Open --> Image --> Resize/Resample --> Set new size --> type in the pixel size
And if all else fails and you still don't know how to resize your image, pick a different image. Something that's not, you know... GINORMOous.
3. Step Three:
Be sure that you saved your image as one of the following accepted file formats: gif, jpg, jpeg, png
4. Step Four:
Sit down now, so the room stops spinning and so you don't pass out.

I followed the steps but my profile picture remains unchanged.

Hi all!
So I think I have tried everything about getting a picture, with no success.
Any ideas? I did the reformatting of an image but that didn't work either.

Chiming in to say that I too am having photo upload issues despite trying everything recommended in the admin's post. But looking up through this thread I do see that most of you are no longer repped by ghost-dude-on-a-black-background, so perhaps there's hope for me yet.
EDIT: i ended up importing mine from a url. Google yo self or your twitter handle (ughhh i know) > images > "view image" > copy & past the url into the photo change option thingy. Must be under 50kb, twitter pic worked for me!

I have tried all of this and still can't upload any photos. How can I talk to someone about this?

Having same trouble downloading image as others have mentioned. A meaningful error message would be helpful.

I was having problems too. It seems the upload from a URL thing is the key. I went out to my twitter account, rightclicked on my pic, then "View Image." Then I pasted that URL into the URL box, imported and it worked like a charm.
Hope that helps some other folks.

Feedback on my query gladly accepted!

So, having a post in the forum is a requirement to uploading a profile picture? That's fine, but something like that should be present in the "upload a photo" section of our profiles so we don't waste a TON of time and energy trying to get it to work.
And also, seems a fair few people are still struggling to get it working despite having posted. I'll update this post with my progress (seeing as this is my first post in this forum, and I apparently couldn't have successfully uploaded a photo prior to making this).
EDIT: Welp, as you can see I managed to upload a picture using an external URL from an online host. Uploading the image I wanted through the forum would not work, regardless of the size or extension of the image. I'd recommend that other people having the same issue use an external URL.
