Hi Non-Fiction Land,

The last time I posted was in March 2012 when I was drinking rejection soup from agents.

I had written a humorous memoir on my intercultural relationship with my husband/in-laws. All of my betas agreed: writing was appealing but concept was too loose.

I took the summer to reimagine my concept. The result: a spiritual memoir. I'm a spiritual person and the experience of marrying outside of my race, culture, ethnicity has definitely refined my faith.

Once I caught the vision of the new concept, I was so much more excited about writing and I think that passion is coming through more readily as I query. I've gotten some encouraging responses and have a full manuscript out to one agent now.

Nothing groundbreaking here. Just reiterating what 2.3M people have already said. If your readers all agree something is wrong, we should probably listen to them :)

Author of memoir. Also, if anyone has a spare labradoodle puppy, I am available. Forever.

That is AWESOME!!!!! I am in the process of reimagining one of my novels thanks to feedback from my critique partners. There should really be a national beta reader/editor/critique partner appreciation day.

I'm so excited for you! The book will still be you, but you'll have that focus that will nab people and draw them in. Go Kendra! And good luck, too.

I love connecting with and helping other AQCers outside this forum as well. You can find me all over the place!
