We have changed the chat room to allow it to pop-up in a new browser window.

We hope this feature change may help those of you who are experiencing the tech glitch of being "kicked out" during chat.

NOTE: If you already have AQC loaded in several different browser windows, you need to close out of them all FIRST before entering chat in order to ensure that chat will activate the pop-up feature of a separate browser window.

Looking for feedback... better, worse, same?

Let us know.

We just tested the new pop-up window feature for the chat room in all major broswers: Chrome, Internet Explorer, FireFox and Safari.

It worked for us in all of them.

If it does not work, it is likely for one or two reasons (that we know about... so far)

1. Your browser has pop-up windows disabled, likely in order to block pop-up ads.

Browser settings -- like blocking ads and pop-ups -- may interfere with the launch of the chat room as a separate pop-up window.

2. You already have two browser windows open for AQC, and the system doesn't "read" that it should launch a new pop-up window because a second window with AQC content is already open.

Looks good. It'll be easier to hang out in both the chat room and AQC at the same time!

I love connecting with and helping other AQCers outside this forum as well. You can find me all over the place!

So does this give new meaning to the phrase "popping by for a chat"?

I like it :) No problems as far as I've seen, and we had 21 people in chat tonight. Thank you so much for your time in fixing this!

Now that this issue is dealt with, is it possible to extend the amount of characters you can type?
