Michelle, is a "no" from one of you at your agency a "no" from all?  I know agencies differ on this. Thanks.

(I would imagine the two of you share info., but just checking)

I do thank you for your great information here.

If a manuscript has been rejected, then a no is a no - we do share info about those and if something is good and just not for one of us, we always check the other person before declining.

If your query has been rejected, then chances are the other agent hasn't seen nor heard of it, so go ahead. :)

Michelle> let's say we query you with a project, it gets rejected...can we query again with a different project? *is currently in this boat* I know most agencies are okay with it, but like to check.

Yes, you are always free to submit another project. :)

I just now saw this, so of course I just had to read every page. I don't have a question; I just want to say thank you, Michelle. You rock. And since your partner accepts Women's Fic, I'll be sending a query to her soon. Thanks again.

Hey there,

Since you guys are so awesome, I thought I would give you the early heads-up that Jamie and I are closing to unsolicited queries as of this coming Friday. We both have a rather large backlog, and also a lot of upcoming conferences (which take a lot of time - preparation, travel, etc.) so we would like to give ourselves the time to go through what we have now properly and get the waiting time down to something reasonable before we start flying all over the country.

So... if you are planning on querying, please get it in within the next few days, otherwise you'll be greeted with the dreaded autoresponder.

This is an indefinite closure, though I suspect that since my conference schedule runs into September, it may be until then that we remain closed.

(Of course I'll still be around and available for any questions!)

Best,

Michelle

Too bad I'm not as ready as I thought =(. But that's okay because it gives me more time to polish and be truly ready when you get back. Have fun at conferences. I looked into the Midwest Writer's Conference...that shit's EXPENSIVE! I will go someday, but not this year...

Michelle Johnson will be at the same conference I'm going to next month. Even though she's not right for my project, I hope to get a chance to meet her since she seems very nice.

I'm curious why all these agents are leaving Corvisario? That's three now, if I"m remembering right. I have a full with Marissa, but haven't heard back yet. I sent it in November, she went closed for the holidays and then they had a "clean out the query box" party recently. But still nothing. I'm going to nudge soon, but it worries me that all these agents are leaving.

The plot thickens...
