Just got the following email from Michael Carr of Veritas Literary:

Be sure to check out his AQ profile as well as this informative Q&A on AbsoluteWrite.com http://www.absolutew...ad.php?t=199944 in which he talks about repping YA, despite the fact that the agency website doesn't list is as a genre.

He's looking to sign an average of one new writer per month.

----------------------

Hello,

I've been with Katherine Boyle and Veritas Literary for a few months now and just wanted to get my information out there. I represent most genres except picture books, romance, and erotica. My agency email is michael@veritasliterary.com and I accept email queries only.

Best,

Michael Carr
Veritas Literary

But I'm such a fan of Adventures in Babysitting.... I wanna be Miss March! But I'll take January. Or anything in 2011. Anything but NEVERTOBER.

Oh, you're going to want that heavy artillery, baby Posted Image

Nah, not really. I'm querying my "shopped it to everyone who has an email address and reps YA" ms.

My bright shiny new WIP query I'm saving for a certain, special, someone.

HA - well, I'm pretty sure you've got Fingerprints partials into a few of my "I wants," so we'll call it a draw.

Well, I'll say this for the man - super fast! e queried, partial request, and first three chap rejections all within the same afternoon / evening. Nice guy, nice rejection. So, I might have to settle for being Miss 2012.Posted Image

Alright, fine. I dubiously win this round - after having received a rejection about an hour after the partial went out .

Ah well - c'est la vie, if you wanna get all French on me. Posted Image

I sent a query yesterday afternoon and had the rejection waiting in my inbox by the time I arrived home from work. He's fast. I love that.

It does, it does. I learned to handle my angst by ignoring the possibility that my dreams could come true. I simply expect to be rejected, so if I'm not, it's quite pleasant Posted Image

LOL! Truly another golden gem for my book of insight when I begin to rack up my own rejection count. Thanks!
