I have finished my memoirs and had it edited.  What do I do now?  Do I look for a publisher directly, or try to find and agent?  And how do I go about each of those things? Any advice would be appreciated.

If you want an agent or a publisher, you'll need a query letter. That should probably be your next step while you research agents and publishers. Most of the big publishers don't accept submissions unless they come from an agent.

Check out the query forum for examples of queries.

Since establishing the company in 2012, we have published more than a dozen books, including several short story anthologies and debut novels by several AQC authors including "ScubaSteve" Carman and R.S. Mellette. Midway through 2018, we've already published our first nonfiction title, "Which the Days Never Know," and are putting together an omnibus collection of the Seasons Series of anthologies, with launch expected by the Christmas season. And in 2019, there will be much more, with news to come soon!

I agree with Michelle. Memoir is queried like fiction. Share it in the query forum, and make your tweaks and changes.
