I had the worst time going it alone with the paperback edition of my novel. I published the ebook at the end of May and just this past weekend I finally worked out the last kink and approved the proof for the paperback of Sorry's Not Enough. I can't believe it's finally out there! Here's the Createspace link (and really, if you'd like to buy the paperback, buying direct from CS means higher royalties for the author, so... just a thought. ) https://www.createspace.com/4308743
Sorry's Not Enough
Charlotte learned at too young an age that even family was capable of hurting you so bad that "sorry" would never be enough to heal the wounds, so she kept hers covered instead. She developed a fierce independence and cultivated her Stay the Hell Away from Me pheromones so others maintained enough distance to keep her heart safe. Then a summer writing workshop brings someone into her life who is not only immune to her attitude, but even finds it endearing.
Recent college grad Steven is confident in every aspect of his life, including the romance department. But Charlotte isn't impressed with just his charm and good looks, and makes him work hard for every smile, every laugh. Just as their relationship takes off, Steven's new job poses a dilemma for the couple that "sorry" can't fix.
Charlotte still has tragic secrets, Steven still mistakenly believes he can heal her heart just by being there, and they both question the sanity of holding onto something that seemed doomed from the start. But the sparks between them - both good and bad - refuse to die down.
They share periods of warm friendship, some time as passionate lovers, and months of barely-civil tension. The relationship shows them both that living on your own and paying bills isn't the mark of maturity - rebuilding the capacity for love and trust after it has been destroyed is. By the time Charlotte comes to terms with the demons in her past, will "sorry" be enough to get Steven back?
