I’m excited to announce the launch of my first novel “Battery Brothers,” which is now available as an e-book (digital / Kindle) http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00JBNX3OM
The paperback version will be out soon.
In no way was this a solo journey. Without the support and advice I received here on AQC, “Battery Brothers” would have never have seen the day of light. There is an endless list of ACQers to thank, but I’d especially like to call attention to anticipa, RC Lewis, Robb Grindstaff, Cat Woods and Matt Sinclair. And, of course, AQCrew for providing such a great resource for writers. You guys rock. Many, many thanks.
I don’t enjoy self-promotion, but since the publisher (ACQ’s own Matt Sinclair -- Elephant’s Bookshelf Press) and I are donating the book proceeds and it is children in need who benefit, here’s my pitch:
- 100 percent of the proceeds from the sale of “Battery Brothers” benefit SUNSHINE FOUNDATION, a charity whose sole purpose is to answer the dreams of chronically ill, seriously ill, physically challenged, and abused children,. You can read about the donation agreement here: http://portjefferson.patch.com/groups/around-town/p/port-jeff-station-author-to-donate-profits-from-new-novel-to-sunshine-foundation
- Battery Brothers was a quarter-finalist in the 2013 Amazon Breakthrough Novel Award contest and won a Publishers Weekly review. Publishers Weekly described the book as “Friday Night Lights meets baseball . . . edgy coming-of-age story about overcoming adversity and personal tragedy.”
- Potentially good read for baseball fans, young adults, and reluctant readers, especially teenage boys – addresses difficult issues many teens face, such as abuse and bullying
I don’t consider myself a talented writer but I write hard and write from the heart. I hope my words make a positive impact in the life of at least one person who reads my book. Because that would make all the effort worth it.
Thanks again, my friends.
