I ran a five-day free promotion through KDP select for DAMSELFLY last week. Gave away 2k books and at one point got into the top 300 for the entire store.

Sales have been a bit slow for me lately and I wasn't expecting many downloads at all. I didn't publicize it. The entire experience has helped get me excited about writing again, so I just thought I would share. :)

Well done, that happened with my debut on Amazon when I ran the free promo.  Trying it again, but this time with part 1 and 2, even though part 1 was already as low as I can price it to try and generate interest and raise its profile, then have people coming back and paying for part 2.  I tried to find a sub genre that wasn't so cluttered, but I would be misleading people if I changed the listing.

Since establishing the company in 2012, we have published more than a dozen books, including several short story anthologies and debut novels by several AQC authors including "ScubaSteve" Carman and R.S. Mellette. Midway through 2018, we've already published our first nonfiction title, "Which the Days Never Know," and are putting together an omnibus collection of the Seasons Series of anthologies, with launch expected by the Christmas season. And in 2019, there will be much more, with news to come soon!

I thought I'd chime in with a similar result: We're currently live with a three-day free promotion of Steve Carman's Battery Brothers and we're on our way to topping 2000 downloads for today. We're already closing in on 1800 and day one isn't over yet. I'm kinda excited to see if we break into those types of "top download" lists too.
