Here's a fantastic blog post by AQC member, Lia Fail, about how she pushed forward without money to conquer several of the common self-publishing hurdles.

 

She lists several great resources at the bottom of the blog post, including cover & font design and beta critique resources.

 

But more importantly, we think this blog post illustrates the type of attitude you need if you plan to go indie and self-publish your won books:  pure determination, willingness to slog through the DIY process, a love for experimentation, and a knack for seeking out different and new resources.
