We have not spent much time on Reddit, but we stumbled upon this YAwriters group and think it's quite possibly one of the best, most comprehensive YA resources we've seen on the internet in a long, long, long time.
This reddit is for those of us who are authors of YA novels. Discussing your original works in progress is our purpose. Feel free to discuss titles, characters, plots, themes, settings, critiques, etc. Also, any information pertinent to the genre and authors should be discussed here. Hopefully we can all learn from each other and write great books!
This is a place for discussion, not sales pitches. While it's fine to talk about a specific work you're developing, marketing, craft, or the business side of YA, any links or posts that are solicitations for sales, followers, ratings etc. will be deleted. Social media profiles, splash pages and purchasing links are not appropriate, unless hosting an AMA. You may link articles from your blog if they pertain to YA or writing. At the first of every month, we'll host a "Members News" post, in which everyone is encouraged to post news, sales links, book covers, etc.
AMA & Topics
If you would like to host an AMA, please fill out this form or contact the mods and let us know of your interest. Typically, AMAs are held on Mondays; let us know if you have a specific date in mind. If you would like to request a person to host an AMA please contact them directly and invite them here! Your sincere approach will mean more than our solicitation--but you're welcome to contact the mods and ask for help in contacting the person you'd like to reach for AMA. If you would like to request a specific topic for discussion, then please contact the mods and let us know of your interest. Featured topic discussions are held on Thursdays. You are welcome to post a topic, question, link, or anything else whenever you like here! Please don't be shy!
Also, be sure to look at the sidebar schedule that shows the specific area of interest each day of the week.
If you're a YA author looking to promote yourself and your newest YA release, take note of how to reach them about hosting an "AMA with a Publishing Professional".
You can see their most recent AMA with YA author, Mary Elizabeth Summer, whose TRUST ME series is being published by Delcorte Press (an imprint of Random House). Extremely informative and interesting.
