I have a YA Historical because my main character is seventeen. Is 84,000 words OK?

Yes! I'd say up to 90k-100k for a YA is fine, especially for genre (fantasy, sci-fi, etc.). But yours is running on the long side, so if you do any revision to trim, it would be welcome but not desperately necessary.
