  • Publishing Experience:Blue Ridge Library Mystery series, (publisher Crooked Lane Books) written as Victoria Gilbert. Book One - A MURDER FOR THE BOOKS: December 2017. Book Two - SHELVED UNDER MURDER: July 2018. Book Three - PAST DUE FOR MURDER: early 2019.

So, although the Publishers Marketplace announcement isn't up yet, my editor and new pub. told me it was okay to announce this --

I have switched genres (to cozy and light mysteries) and taken on a penname (Victoria Gilbert) and ... drumroll... it seems to have been a good change.

Because this happened --  http://victoriagilbe...eries.com/blog/

For those who don't want to click through to my blog, here's the news:

I am thrilled to announce that I have signed a three book contract with Crooked Lane Books for my Library Mystery Series.

Book One — A MURDER FOR THE BOOKS — will be published in January 2018, with the next two books releasing later in 2018 and in early 2019.

My editor is Faith Black Ross, who acquired the books for Crooked Lane. My agent, Frances Black of Literary Counsel, brokered the deal.

I’ve discovered a great love for writing mysteries (it makes sense, as I have always loved to read them) so I am very excited to embark on this new writing adventure.

  • Publishing Experience:I published my first book through AuthorHouse. Since then I tried out a small one-man publishing company and then a mid-level publishing LLC. I have since unpublished all of my books from those companies and I have published them all through CreateSpace, Kindle Direct Publishing, and most recently SmashWords. I am much happier with this arrangement.
