I'm having serious problems trying to transfer a PDF into a Mobi file. I've done it through a few online converters, but when it opens in the Kindle app, it's all wrong. It's screwing up the format all over the place, putting three lines here, and then adding a space, and then there's random numbers in the middle of a paragraph.

What am I doing wrong? Is there a legit converter that's better?

I'm doing this to send the file to a review. That's the format she requested.

Since establishing the company in 2012, we have published ten books, including short stories by several AQC writers and debut novels by AQC authors A.T. O'Connor (aka Cat Woods), "ScubaSteve" Carman, and R.S. Mellette. Heading into 2016, we're aiming to publish at least two books, including the second Mellette novel and an anthology. In 2015, I saw a few memoir/nonfiction pieces published in Red Fez. I expect to do more of that in 2016 and beyond, while also looking to add freelance editing and writing clients.

I've never tried to go from PDF to Mobi. I've gone from word to Mobi. Calibre is what I've mostly used and haven't noticed any major issues.

Okay, it took me like three hours, but I ended up with something. I downloaded Calibre; I probably made it more complicated than it should have been. I transferred the PDF to EPUB and then the EPUB into Mobi, then ended up selecting the "kindle" for the output and input.

So, in the end - problem solved.

Good. If you haven't already, send yourself a copy of the finished mobi to review.
