I'm new here but I have a question for the more seasoned members. Has anyone had good luck or experience submitting material through submittable.com or authors.me?

Thanks.

A lot of publications use Submittable for their submission portal (I am not familiar with authors.me). Not sure what you're asking exactly. Submittable is as legit as the publication using it, so as always you should do your research before submitting a story. As for usability, I find Submittable pretty straight forward and have not had an issue submitting through it. I have found that not all publications will alert you when they make a determination on your story, so sometimes you have to log back into your Submittable account to see if a story has been accepted or rejected.

Does that help?

Yes, many publishers/agents use Submittable. It's great. Also sign up for their newsletter: Submishmash. Although you might start getting it automatically once you used Submittable.
