Hello all, I'm new to the group and hope to interact with some people, share some information, and make some contacts.

I've been a long-time reader "always with his head in a book" and my passion is vocal performance.

Well, now I am embarking on my next adventure: I want to get my first book published. I'm nervous and excited with so many ideas, hopes and fears.

Today I wrote my first query letter and sent it to 2 friends; havent heard back from them yet. I literally just sent it off.

Wish me Luck and say Hello.

Many Blessings,

ranton

Hi there!! Must be exciting ! We have a “Query Critique” forum if you want to share your query there. Many people who have already published novels or people who are just darn god at query’s can give you a feedback!! :) good luck on your journey !

If I helped please leave a feedback on my YA FANTASY QUERY http://agentquerycon...st-50/?p=350935

Thanks so much. I've read a few queries and am about to post mine today. It's a How-To, and I haven't seen any on here so far. We'll see how it goes. I have to get it to an editor before the end of the month.

Thanks for saying Hi.

  • Publishing Experience:I am somewhat unpublished. Okay. I'm entirely unpublished. But I'm good and everyone's got to start somewhere, right? Take a chance on me and you won't be disappointed. Ironically, that's what I say to most of my dates. They say, "A writer? How adorable." What does that mean, exactly?

Ranton, much luck and hello.  Wishing you success, man.  We gotta get out there and conquer, right?  It's hard to know exactly what to do, where to go and how to get an agent's attention.  But when I learn something, I'll tell you.  When I screw up, I'll let you know, mostly so you don't fall in the same pit.  Nice to meet you.  Consider me a friend if you wish.
