Querying an agent after a pitchfest

Can you send a query letter to an agent after you have already pitched your story idea to them through a pitchfest? Or is pitching the story the equivalent of sending a query to them?

You can still query them.
If you're referring to the pitchfest on savvyauthors.com/blog, the agents are only seeing a 3-sentence pitch and metadata.
Once an agent sees your complete submission pack (ex: query, sample pages), you've officially queried them.
