Since establishing the company in 2012, we have published more than a dozen books, including several short story anthologies and debut novels by several AQC authors including "ScubaSteve" Carman and R.S. Mellette. Midway through 2018, we've already published our first nonfiction title, "Which the Days Never Know," and are putting together an omnibus collection of the Seasons Series of anthologies, with launch expected by the Christmas season. And in 2019, there will be much more, with news to come soon!

Hey guys, I'm planning to attend the upcoming agent panel at the New York Writers' Workshop in NYC next weekend. I don't know yet who the specific agents are, but I wanted to see what they see as the state of nonfiction publishing in this brave new era of self-publishing.

I have questions in mind already, but I'd love to hear if any of you have some you'd like to have addressed in the nonfiction arena. This includes memoir. Feel free to post questions and ideas here. I have no guarantee that all my questions will be answered, but I should be able to get at least a couple in.

Since I'm doing this on Saturday, I thought I'd bring the question back up, in case anyone missed it when I posted earlier.

In case you missed it, I posted a thread about this event, and I'll do a similar posting for the agent panel for fiction, which will be held in April.

Looking forward to what they have to say about that too. :)

(Curious about middle grade novels in particular.)

Thanks for that comment, Jean. Any specific question about MG?

Um... probably.

How about something along the lines of what is the market like for middle grade novels right now? What are agents looking for in terms of the male market? What is dead? Those sorts of things I suppose. That's three questions though.

Could you ask: What is happening in the middle grade market right now? (That should give them some leeway in their reply and hopefully not be too crazy.)

Thanks Matt, I really appreciate it. The closest writers' event to where I am is about a 12 hour drive and the one time I finally made all the arrangements to go I had to cancel. Major bummer!!!

I'll do my best to get it in. I don't know yet who the agents are, but they always have excellent people speak.

If you have the opportunity. If you don't, don't worry about it. Your updates are great--thanks for sharing those.
