More advance on the revision today please, a little more brainstorming on vlog stuff.

Subbed a few more flash/short pieces. Need to print out sample pages/cover letters for postal queries and get them sent off this week. Tinkering with the plot of next book, but it's not coming easy.

I finally had a productive day on Monday. But like clockwork, the Writing Gods decided to fry the transformer for my laptop (at least I hope that's what it is), so I've switched over to the desktop as of this morning, moving forward in a new file until I can get out to buy a new power supply and retrieve the previous work. (Worst case is that I lose Monday's work, as I have everything else backed up by email & google docs).

Day 5/40: 4,385 words.
Running total: 14,415/100K.
Daily Average: 2,883 words.

WIP - Black Sea. It's not about the Black Sea.

I need to hunker down and proof today. This business of half a chapter a day is annoying me. I need it to be a chapter a day (10 very long chapters total). Because then I need to print it and do it one last time.

I'm going to take a day off. I know I have another round of edits to do, and I have an idea for what I hope to be a powerful scene, but I think it's a good idea to allow my ms to simmer for a day or two.

  • Publishing Experience:I've had some poetry published in various poetry books, newspapers, and some online things-I don't remember the specifics though. No novel published, yet. Oh yeah-I have had some articles published in various newspapers as well, but-like the poetry- it's been a while...

Well, my 5yo is sick, again...So, spending the day taking care of her. I'm hoping at some point I will be able to work on revisions and critiques though.

Revisions are coming along, except for three chapters. Three chapters are my nemesis right now..am furiously working on them to slash, burn and rewrite a bit. Everything else is getting there. It's coming together finally, but once I get through these 3 chapters, i can breathe much more easily.

Yesterday cut about 1500 words (does that count?) and then cleaned up a good bit of one chapter.

Some might not agree with me, but doesn't it make you feel good when you revise and realize that underneath all the stuff you sweep away and erase, that there's a damn good story waiting to be discovered?

Put the trickier sections of the revision behind me. Also my brain went manic and I was up til 3 AM storming vlog ideas. Really it's quite awesome when my brain is like, OH I KNOW!

And.... THIS!

Also HERE!!!

And WHAT ABOUT!>!!??????

Although I am kind of tired right now.

So this is what happens when you don't have the internet to distract you and lull you to sleep.

I made it through the first chapter and got a tiny start on the second. Too many distractions yesterday. Today there is not laptop sitting on my desk needing to be fixed, on a form to update.
