Hi Everyone!

I am a YA author and I just joined AgentQuery tonight. Writing is my true passion and I am looking to get better! I just finished
my first novel and it was one of 100 semifinalists (out of 10,000 entries) in the 2012 Amazon Breakthrough Novel Award Contest. I really want to make my crappy query better so I am open to all feedback! And of course, I am looking forward to being part of the community here too, and ready to help others any way I can!

Nicki

Hi, Nicki! I'm hammering out a query letter, too. Congrats on the Amazon contest! Can you tell me more about it?

Welcome, Nicki! The people here are fantastic with help, and my query letter is much better for their feedback. Along with the beta readers, the support, the humor, and the amount of knowledge to be found.

Congrats on the Amazon award!

First of all, what an awesome snake bittermama! The ABNA contest is super cool - you can enter in general fiction or YA fiction. the top two overall winners get a publishing contract with Penguin. I made it to the semifinals - so close! :(

Thanks, I do love reptiles (plus, yay on the allergy front!). And thank you for the link to the Amazon contest. Semifinals are awesome, especially considering how much competition's out there! Heck, I'm still thrilled that a story I sold got an honorable mention in that year's "Best Of" genre anthology, and that was a decade ago...

Welcome Nicki...you're the second newbie here that has won in the Amazon contest...I think I need to check that out.

Please let me know whenyour query comes up as I'd like to try to help you...not that I'm a great wordsmith, but I may see a thing or three that would need help or a suggestion...and thanx for the critique on mine...
