We are aware that there are technical issues with the chat room that effect some members, but not all members.

If you have entered the chat room, and you cannot view chat messages, it is likely a browser issue.

The chat room works for all browsers, including Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Internet Explorer.

However, some users but NOT the majority of members, have reported chat room bugs while with IE 9.0

As a result, if you are using IE. 9.0 and are experiencing technical issues, it is most likely a setting issue on your computer's browser or your computer itself.

You can try disabling your pop-up blocker and/or adjusting IE 9.0's security settings. You can also try disabling the "Windows Compatibility" mode on IE.

In addition, you can try downloading Chrome or FireFox and if it does NOT work on your computer with those browsers, you have likely ruled out an IE 9.0 issue and you are dealing with a macro issue with your computer settings. For example, if you have McAfee or other anti-virus software, it may be infterfering with the scripts that load the chat messages.

Because it is a client-side issue, it makes us difficult to troubleshoot for you. But if you do snoop around and figure it out, please re-post here because the feedback will help other AQC members -- no doubt.

Bug report
Chat scrolling

issue: Chat does not scroll (have to keep hitting the down arrow on the chat window to read new posts.)

I've been experiencing this, intermittently for a month or more and on 2 separate machines. Happening again today.

Chrome - latest version, win 7 64bit, new laptop (quad core, 8gb ram, nvidia Geforce with 2gb vram) It's not the machine this time. Other laptop that has this issue is Chrome- win 7 32bit (dual core 4gb ram nvidia Geforce with 1gb vram)

We think this might be a java issue. We don't think it's a Chrome issue because not everyone is experiencing it while using Chrome, and it sounds more like a client-side issue and the way your computer is handling the java.

You're a tech guy, Paul... so what are you best guesses at this point? We're stumped, and we can't replicate it.

Here's a link about keeping your java up-to-date, but at the same time, if it were just a java/client-side issue, we have to imagine this would be affecting more AQC members.

I doubt it's a java issue but, for reference, I have java set to notify of new versions and I always apply them. The issue has happened on more than one machine and with different versions of Windows. I suspect the problem is caused by a Chrome extension - possibly Adblock. I haven't been in chat recently to test this - plus the problem is intermittent and therefore harder to track down.

Interesting thought about the Chrome extensions.

If you only have a few enabled, can you list them here or send us a PM?

That way we can try troubleshooting to see if we can replicate the issue on our end.

With the exception of the fingerprint scanner, these extensions are common to both machines.

I'd focus on Adblock as other IP chat forums have reported this issue.

Hope this helps.

Everyone once in a while, I'll log into the chatroom and get kicked out. I have no idea why. And then sometime later, I can get in just fine.

Hi there,

Yeah, this has been a problem for some members, but not all members for a while now...

We are now experimenting with opening the chat up in a separate browser window.

This will help everyone who wants to chat in one browser window while also navigating to other areas of AQC or other websites during chat.

You can leave feedback about this change here: http://agentquerycon...-pop-up-window/

Even with the pop up window, I'm being kicked from the chat.
